Does Networking Really Level Up Your Career?

Welcome to Women with Motion, A community where you can be your authentic self, collaborate with peers, and grow.

Hello, my name is Jasmine Hernandez, I'm the founder of Women with Motion. When I graduated college, I wanted to get started with my new career in Public Relations right away. The problem was I had no idea where to start. To give some insight I wasn't the typical college student. I had a full-time job at a fortune 500 company, 2 young sons, and was going through a divorce after 10 years of marriage. So, I'd say I had a lot going on. Well, I reached out to a mentor, someone in the community that was known for PR and hosting events, and they advised to get started simply go out and meet new people build connections. The simplicity of the advice shook me because well duh Public Relations is all about people!

And off I went...

I searched for networking events to go to, I attended art shows, community events, you name it I was there! I found comradery in various groups of people. Networking does work! I've learned so much and met so many great people doing amazing things who've helped further my knowledge, and had I not went out I'd still be in the same place. However, I still felt there was a better way to be my authentic self and not feel like I'm still on the clock after I clock out to attend these gatherings. I'm in PR not HR, I don't want to make surface level connections I want to make lasting impactful ones. I wanted the momentum to be even greater!

...and then came Women with Motion

I wanted to be in a space with other like-minded women to grow within a community and develop my brand. A networking event where it doesn't seem like a task that you have to hype yourself up for. No awkward standing around and waiting for someone to talk to you. Women with Motion brings curated events with fun, interactive icebreakers, leadership speakers from diverse industries, and good time!

If this sounds like something you'd like to be a part of and you're in the San Antonio area follow us to join the movement!
